SAINT EMILION GRAND CRU

Our Story

The Château Lescours was built in 1341. His name comes from his first landlord : Pey de Lascortz, squire lord from England Edouard III (1327-1377).

The vineyard

Our vineyard is 8 hectares and is part of the famous label “Saint Emilion Grand Cru”. It is planted on sandy and gravelly soil, while the other 72 hectares correspond to a wetland ecosystem whose biodiversity Pierre CHARIOL is keen to preserve.

The winery

The building is from the 19th century. Built by the Lursalus family, owner of Château Yquem in Sauternes. The cellar was later modified to achieve the current appearance.

Our Wines

Rich in Merlot, our wines have a beautiful roundness, delicate finesse and great aromatic richness. Cabernets, on the other hand, give the wine its backbone, the basis of its structure (richness in tannins).

Our treasures

Monumental, stone and bronze statues are hidden in the park of Lescours castle.
Decorative objects: small bronzes, chandeliers, mirrors, vases, and other unusual objects…

Wine Tours

Just 30 minutes from Bordeaux and 5 minutes from the medieval city of Saint-Emilion, come and discover one of the oldest castles in the Saint Emilion region, in a warm and family atmosphere.

My wife and i were in St.-Emillion in early August when most wineries are closed for tours. This little gem we found was a most pleasant surprise. We called to see if they were open, and if there was an english speaking person for the tour. It turns out the winemakers son , who grew up there, went to the US for a year, like his father, to learn english and American ways. We had one other couple join , also from the US, and we leisurely toured, tasted 4 wines and met his mother and brother who run the business. This shows how a well run boutique operation gets high marks on wine, simple ambiance and charm.
